Women Entrepeneurs

A blog for women by women who are starting businesses.

I am part of a group of women called Wealth in Action. We are all at different levels of starting our own businesses.

I think I was born to be an entrepeneur. I'm smart, I'm efficient, I'm enrolling and I'm not afraid of hard work.

So, I'm starting a few businesses in the coming months.  One is this site. I think the possibilities for directions this site can go are limitless. I would love to hear from you about what you think I can do with this. This is a site for community by community and about creating community. So you, my community: tell me what you think would be a valuable addition to this site.  I'm super exicted about this particular business because, essentially, I can make money doing what I love:  being social and creating community.

My other smaller business venture is teaching cooking classes. This one is having a harder time getting off the ground. I have about 15 years of experience cooking vegetarian, vegan, non-dairy and non-wheat foods. I know that there's an audience out there that's dying to know more about these types of cooking. I want to teach people how to efficiently and nutritiously cook food that they like and is inexpensive. I'm working on this with a nutritionist friend of mine. We're going really slowly. I think it's because, honestly, we don't have a ton of "extra" time.  I work full time with National Audubon Society and cook for elders one night a week. Plus I am committed to having an awesome relationship and taking care of myself (aka. sleep, exercise, lots of free time, etc.).  These cooking lessons will happen, but they might take a bit longer.

My third business is sort of a "secret" right now. Suffice to say, I will be providing food services for a new business in the Highlands. Look for more about that on future blogs.

I'd love to hear about your businesses:  what they are, how they're doing, if you need support, what you've learned. Anything you want to share with all the women who read this is much appreciated.

I'd be really excited if this blog took off and we created a little community of women entrepeneurs who are all a stand for each other's success and making money doing what they love!

Peace out Ladies,

Laurel
